Pet Care Tips

• Never keep your pet outside in the summer heat!  If you wouldn’t want to be in it, neither would they!
• Consider giving your pets filtered or purified water.  Nevada or tap water is a major cause of kidney and many other health issues.  Again, if you wouldn’t drink it, neither should they!
• Boiled chicken, white rice, carrots, tomatoes & apples make the best snacks!  They’re healthy and most dogs love them!
• Regular teeth brushing prevents gingivitis and periodontal disease.  More importantly, it also prevents bacteria from getting into your pet's bloodstream which causes damage to the kidneys, liver, heart and lungs.  A very, very common occurence!
• If your dog just won’t take that pill, wrap it in a small piece of your favorite cheese.  It’s a guarantee!
• Gauze wrapped around your finger will make teeth brushing easier and more effective for your pooch.
• If you have a growing puppy, be sure to check his collar regularly.  Remember, puppies grow fast and it may soon be too tight around the neck.
• Another puppy tip:  Keep in mind that for each month old your puppy is will equate to how many hours they can hold it before they must relieve themselves.  (ex. 5 months old = 5 hours of hold time)
• Red Cross Latex Gloves make for the best pet waste clean up product.  They’re cheaper than the ones at the pet stores and won’t seep through to your hands.  It makes for accurate pick up too!
• If your dogs love chicken jerky, but you don’t like the cost; you can buy a huge bag for $12 at Costco.  Not only will your dogs LOVE it, it’s also a fantastic supplement for their hips & joints!
• Distilled vinegar will neutralize urine odors.
